Boat Trip Day 2

Day two started off with pretty dreary weather but we headed out for destination two anyway.

As we went along the clouds started to break for some sun and it got a little warmer

If Banana did not like to read I don't know what we would do....I think he logged 7 hours on day 2

We got the sails up briefly but not much wind and approaching a draw bridge so down they went.

Jeff was very nervous for the draw bridge but did great and I got to radio the bridge operator to ask him to open the bridge....king of fun....OVER!

More READING!

It was still quite gray as we approached the river but like 5 minutes into the sun came out clear and bright.  It was a beautiful place

Carrots expression when she saw her first house on the river bank

They were spectacular houses

This next one was probably my favorite and the biggest by far.  They had beautiful brick gardens to the side of the house and what looked like maybe a small par 3 golf course in one of them.

To the right of the house was their dock and the boat had a charming little house as well.

They certainly take their boat houses seriously on this river

After exploring for a bit we decided to anchor and do some swimming.

Have to love that sweet face

Boat Trip Day 1

Day one we set off on our adventure to be on a 7 day boat trip.  The weather was cold and a bit rainy but with the promise of good weather for the rest of the week we set off.

Not long into the trip it was raining enough for the weather gear

and more gear....

Several hours later we arrived at destination one.  We stayed at a marina this first night.  It was very beautiful and they had a very nice pool.  It would have been awesome to get there earlier and enjoyed the marina grounds.

Carrot enjoyed the pool despite the cold cloudy day

Lots of night time Uno in the cabin.

Boat Trip Day 4

Day four we were off to our next destination.  We were all a little excited to get a break from sleeping on the boat and were going to spend two nights in hotel with real beds, a real potty, a pool and a cool town to explore.

Almost there

Fun little sunfish race we got to cross through

Pulling up to the town we could hear the church bells ringing....it was beautiful!

We pulled into our slip and this was our boat neighbor LOL

View from our bedroom window

View from our living room window

The pool had a beautiful view of the town across the water

ONE, TWO, THREE

This church has been having services for hundreds of years.

Jeff enjoying a nice explore through a graveyard

Of course this was the first thing we hit when we came into town

Yummy!

Time to explore

It was a beautiful evening and we ALL decided on the crabs even Carrot.  It was fun to have a family seafood dinner.

This cracks me up.  I cant' believe how well they posed their faces for this

Walk from the pool to our room

right outside our room

After our crab dinner we decided to have dessert at our hotel.  They had an awesome dessert menu and the outdoor restaurant overlook the water.  It was awesome.  We got skillet apple crumble and Carrot got chocolate cake.  Ours was good but once we all tasted the chocolate cake we knew we were coming back tomorrow for more dessert.

Sunset with dessert....how perfect

Getting a little tired so moved to daddy's lap

Full and ready for bed and another fun day tomorrow
