Pickle Day

When I was little I used to wish I was a boy so I could be a farmer.  Once it sunk in gender change didn't really happen (so I thought)  I figured I should marry a farmer and be a farmers wife.
30 YEARS LATER..............

I married a banker who plants a garden because he probably daydreams about being a farmer while he is stuck at his office job 14 hours per day :(

I like my garden.  I like going outside and weeding it in the morning while the kids are play....well I enjoy weeding about half then I get bored so I make my son do the other half.  The produce is starting to come out my ears so I tried my hand at pickle making and it was so easy.

The hardest part was trying to find dill sprigs which next year I will know to grow my own.  I made whole pickles and spears and used two different recipes.  I can't wait to see how they turned out.

Love this life

Today I had the pleasure of walking around outside in my garden and picking my produce and enjoying this beautiful day.  As I was pulling a cucumber off it's stem I remembered that I used to sit at me office desk and dream of doing this.  I took a moment to try just let it sink in and enjoy the moment.  I am very blessed to have been able to make this change in  my life.

Thank you Jeff for giving me this opportunity.  I enjoy it!

Next up - Attempting to make homemade pickles....if I can ever find dill sprigs
